Montgomery attorney Joe Hubbard announced Tuesday that he’s running for Montgomery County Circuit Judge.
Hubbard made the announcement outside of the Frank M. Johnson Federal Courthouse downtown alongside his family and supporters.
He ran in 2014 as a democratic nominee for attorney general and is a former state representative for district 73 in Montgomery.
Hubbard spoke about the role of the courts and how his decisions will be guided by the law if elected.
“That there is no favoritism shown to lawyers who are buddies of the judge. There’s no favoritism shown to those who have money, and for those who have power or influence, but that the court serves all people equally, regardless of race, regardless of status, regardless of political influence. That is priority one.”
Qualifying for the Democratic party begins September 14.
The primary election is set for March 1st of next year.
