If you’re pants sag too low in one Alabama town, it could soon cost you a big fine.
City council members in the city of Dadeville could vote as early as next Tuesday on a proposed saggy pants ban.
City Council Frank Goodman is pushing the new ordinance. He says it’s about respect. He says there needs to be respect for fellow citizens and respect for yourself. Goodman says he sees too many people, mainly young men wearing their pants to low.
Currently, the city attorney is working with the Attorney General’s Office to create the proper language for the ordinance.
Goodman hopes to have it ready for the next city council meeting set for next Tuesday, September 15.
If passed by the city council, a violation could cost someone as much as $100.
