TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The University of Alabama football team put in a nearly two-hour practice in shells on Monday afternoon outside on the Thomas-Drew Practice Fields in preparation for this weekend’s Southeastern Conference opener against the No. 15/11 Ole Miss Rebels.
The Crimson Tide’s first practice of the new week focused on preparing for a Rebel offense that has put together a combined 1,200-plus yards and more than 70 points in each of the last two weekends. Alabama welcomes Ole Miss for an 8:15 p.m. CT game inside Bryant-Denny Stadium with the contest airing on ESPN. The trio of Chris Fowler, Kirk Herbstreit and Heather Cox will return once again to call the game, after also being on mic for the season opener against Wisconsin.
Alabama will practice on Tuesday and Wednesday in full pads as the team looks to bounce back after last year’s loss to the Rebels in Oxford. The Crimson Tide own the all-time advantage in the series with the Rebels, 47-10-2, including winning 10 of the last 11 matchups between the two teams.
