Six Suspected Drug Dealers Arrested in Perry Co. Drug Sweep

From the West Alabama Newsroom–  Six suspected drug dealers are off the street after a drug sweep in Perry County.

Sheriff Billy Jones says all six suspects are charged with the Unlawful-Distribution-of-a-Controlled-Substance.

He says they were arrested Wednesday morning during a drug raid in the city of Uniontown.

Jones says the raid came as the result of a 10-month undercover operation.

“I really want to limit the drug use, the drug dealing in this area cause it leads to a lot more crimes, a lot of stealing, even lead up to people getting shot. Some of these guys was selling drugs to school age kids and we really had to put a stop to it,” said Jones.

The suspects are each being held in the James Hood Detention Facility on $50,000 dollars bond.
