Tuskegee Works to Help Small Business Owners, Entrepreneurs

It can be a difficult road when starting a business. A three-day conference in Tuskegee aims to provide entrepreneurs and business owners with the resources to be successful.

This is the 20th year Tuskegee’s held the economic development summit.
It’s three days full of workshops addressing every facet of running a business.
Participants learn about everything from securing a loan, establishing a line of credit, to networking.

Lawrence Haygood, Economic Development Specialist, Tuskegee University said, “The key challenge as a business as you know, especially a small or new business, how to survive, how to get the assistance they need, how to get the credit or capital they need. And particularly technical assistance. We also have the social security administration here to talk about what do you need for social security if you are a new or small business.”

Workshops will be held through tomorrow at the Kellogg Hotel and Convention Center. It’s 50 dollars, meals included. But if you need help paying, the university is willing to assist.
They want to reach as many potential business owners as possible.
