Barr Sworn in As New Troy Police Chief

It’s changing of the guard in Troy.

Troy Police’s Randall Barr swapped out his captain badge for the chief’s badge.
It was standing room only for his swearing in ceremony today.
Barr’s been with the department for 24 years.
He started out in patrol, then moved through the ranks and made captain 5 years ago.

He says he’s excited and blessed to start a new challenge,  one that he never anticipated when he first started out with the department.
His first day in his new role starts tomorrow.

Randall Barr, Troy Police Chief said, “I don’t expect any major changes. We just implemented a brand new CAD system and record management system and mobile CAD in the cars so we are still learning that process, it’s a whole new element to the way we are used to doing business so it’s a good change.”

Chief Barr takes over for former Police Chief Jimmy Ennis, he celebrated his retirement last Friday.
