Seth Hammett Resigns as Governor Bentley’s Chief of Staff

Seth Hammett resigns as Governor Robert Bentley’s Chief of Staff. Hammett was appointed interim chief in May 2014

In a statement, Hammett says when Governor Bentley asked him to join his administration, the pair mutually agreed that the position would end at the conclusion of the legislative session.

“While the process took a little longer than expected, my work here has been completed and I will be returning full time to PowerSouth where we will continue to work aggressively to bring new jobs and economic growth to our state,” Hammett said.

In a statement, Hammett calls the experience rewarding and credits the Governor’s Cabinet for making it a better place to live.

Last year, Governor Robert Bentley asked me to join his administration as Chief of Staff as he worked to accomplish his legislative agenda and other strategic plans.  From the outset, we mutually agreed that my service as Chief of Staff would end at the conclusion of the legislative session.

Seth Hammett’s last day at the Capitol will be Friday, October 16th.Â
