Gov. Bentley Announces $500K+ in Grant Money for Brundidge

 

He announced that more than half a million dollars in grant money will be used in the city of Brundidge. Southern Classic Food Group is a large employer in the area and the grant money will help support major expansion at the food processor. 

 

The money will be used to add a new industrial road leading to a soon-to-be built vegetable processing plant, and also to support water and sewer infrastructure. Those are two vital things for the large manufacturer that produces many different products like salad dressing and sauces. 

 

Gov. Robert Bentley, (R) Alabama said, “You know it is just really interesting to go around the state and see what’s produced in Alabama. And what you eat everyday may have been produced in this plant right here and the production took place  right here. I didn’t know if it was just packaging or production but he said no we produce these products here. And they continue to expand there are other plants that we can’t announce yet that will be coming that everyone will be familiar with.”
