Drug Raid in Tallassee Lands 20 People Behind Bars

Nearly two dozen people are arrested following a major drug raid in Tallapoosa county.
The drug raid took place in the Wall Street community in Tallassee. Â That’s on the Tallapoosa county side of town.
In the end, 20 people were taken into custody. Â Charges range from drug possession, trafficking and firearms violations.
Authorities say they seized 15 hundred dollars in cash, four guns, marijuana, meth and cocaine during the operation.
Local residents we spoke with say they’re happy to see the arrests and ahope it ends a long string of crimes in their neighborhood.
Authorities say their investigation is continuing and they expect to make more arrests.
