Miss Alabama Meg McGuffin Speaks to Women in Troy about “Healthy is the New Skinny Campaign”

“Who better to talk about what she has done and to inspire them even more than Meg McGuffin?” says Dianna Lee of The Female Factor.

Miss Alabama Meg McGuffin’s target age group may be fourteen to twenty-five year-olds with her campaign Healthy is the New Skinny. But she took on an older audience Wednesday at Troy’s “Female Factor” session.

“I was so excited to speak to all of them because I’ve even had my own grandmother make comments about her body or her self esteem before. So its something that doesn’t affect just one group of women, it affects all women,” ays Meg McGuffin.

Meg began promoting Healthy is the New Skinny while a student at Auburn University. Now since she’s been crowned she’s taking it across Alabama.

“It has been my mission to promote the message that healthy is the new skinny and that healthy looks different on everyone and that beauty is not defined by the shape of our bodies.”

In its fifth year, Meg is one of many that Troy’s Female Factor invites to speak to women about life, health, education and fashion.

“I’m excited about what we’re doing for the community.”

For Meg, to inspire another group of women as Miss Alabama is memorable.
