ABC Board and Mothers Against Drunk Driving Speak to Pike Liberal Arts Students About Underage Drinking
Thousands of lives under the age of 21 are lost each year from underage and binge drinking.
Members of the Alabama Alcoholic Beverage Control Board and Mothers Against Drunk Driving spoke to students at Pike Liberal Arts School in Troy about the consequences of drinking alcohol. Since 2013, the ABC board has advocated their message, “Under Age, Under Arrest.” Mothers Against Drunk Driving is also part of the initiative. They say for every alcoholic drink consumed by an underage drinker, an adult is responsible.
“We don’t want any young person in the state of Alabama to say, I did not know what the law was, I didn’t understand the consequences, so we’re making sure that this message gets out,” says Dean Argo of the ABC Board.
The ABC Board wants adults to remember its against the law to provide or sell alcohol to anyone under 21.
