Feeling Like December
CLEAR & COLD: A cold front moved through the state yesterday pushing the showers and clouds out, and delivering much colder air. Temperatures to start our Friday are over twenty degrees colder than Thursday morning. We are seeing some low and mid-level clouds across South Alabama this morning, but those will be clearing out during the morning hours. For the rest of today and through Sunday, expect an abundance of sunshine, no rain, as well fair and cold nights. Highs today and Saturday will be in the mid and upper 50s, while 60s return Sunday. Overnight lows will be very cold. Saturday morning we all should be below freezing and many locations will see upper 20s. Then Sunday morning, lower 30s are expected. Overall it will be a beautiful and seasonal weekend of weather.
UNSETTLED WEATHER NEXT WEEK: Moist air returns Monday along with the risk of a few showers. Then, mild and unsettled weather is the story Tuesday, Wednesday, and possibly into the day Thursday with occasional showers and thunderstorms along with high in the 70s. The last few model runs have backed off the threat of strong to severe storms for Alabama Wednesday, Wednesday night, and possibly into Thursday. Certainly some great news, but it is still way too early to right the threat off for now. Just something to watch closely since so many people will be traveling. No matter if there is severe weather or not, it is going to be wet, with several inches of rain possible next week.
CHRISTMAS DAY: A front will swing through the state on Christmas Eve and will bring drier air into the state. It still looks as though Christmas Day will be dry and mild. Expect plenty of sunshine, with highs in the mid-60s likely.
Have a fantastic Friday and a Wonderful Weekend!
Ryan
