Reggie Barlow Loses Lawsuit Against ASU
A court case that’s gone on for months and months has come to an end after a judge’s ruling. Montgomery County Circuit Court Judge Greg Griffin, on Friday, ruled against former Alabama State University head football coach Reggie Barlow in his wrongful termination case.
Barlow, the former head football coach, filed a wrongful termination lawsuit against the university and several university officials earlier this year.
Shortly after Friday’s ruling, Barlow and his attorney asked Griffin to reverse his order and recuse himself. Barlow says the judge was employed at ASU for a number of years as an adjunct professor and should’ve recused himself from the case.
ASU officials released a statement on the court’s decision that reads “Alabama State University is very pleased at the court’s decision today that finds in favor of the University by dismissing the lawsuit filed against it by Reggie Barlow. The University was vindicated and absolved as the court concluded that all standard operating procedures were followed appropriately by the University.”
