More than a dozen people are arrested in a pre-dawn drug raid Monday in Demopolis.

Demopolis Police Chief Tommie Reese says the raid came as a result of undercover police investigation that began more than 18 months ago.

He says officers executed warrants at various locations all over the city – and a dozen suspected drug dealers were arrested.

Reese says a large amount of marijuana, crack cocaine, drug paraphernalia and weapons were found during the sweep.

The suspects are being held in the Marengo County Detention Center awaiting bond hearings.
