Healthy choices are often pushed aside during the holiday season — but there are some people who manage to stay on track.
The holiday season provides plenty of opportunities for people to fall off the wagon when it comes to exercise and eating right.
Officials at the Selma-Dallas Co. YMCA say most of the people who stay on track with their fitness during the holiday season — are people who are committed to living a healthy lifestyle.
They say traffic at the Y typically slows down during the holidays — then picks up strong in January.
“In January everybody will hit the floor running and try to be losing weight,” said YMCA CEO Ann Murray. “All of our treadmills will be full and people are able to re-commit to that because there’s not so much food in the house.”
Y officials say there are about two dozen fitness programs available for kids and adults at the Y.
