Giraffe Dies at the Montgomery Zoo
The Montgomery Zoo has announced the death of the zoo’s 12 and-a-half year old, male Reticulated giraffe, Willie. Zoo officials say he died yesterday morning.
Willie had been a resident of the Montgomery Zoo for 10 years. Zoo officials say a necropsy is being performed and a report will be provided once the test results have been received. The zoo says it may take more than four weeks to know how Willie died.
