Every college town has that one iconic bar. In Auburn, that’s been the War Eagle Supper Club.

And as we countdown the end of 2015- so to will be the finale of a more than 70 year run. The building has been there since 1937 and it’s been a fixture in Auburn entertainment. However, the business owner’s did not own the land so when it sold the property owners did not renew their lease. New Year’s Eve will be their last big celebration. Doors open at 6 p.m. and tickets have been sold out since September.

Mark Cadenhead, Owner/Manager War Eagle Supper Club, “People coming up wanting pictures, one last time to come in and our merchandise is going off the wall right now.”

John Brandt, Owner War Eagle Supper Club said, “It’s almost like we’ve been eulogized because all these former employees and customers have been writing posts on Facebook and other social media.”

The owners will hold an auction starting at 4p.m. on Saturday. Everything in the building will be up for sale since it will be demolished in the future. The owners are still not one hundred percent certain that they will reopen in another location.
