Rain Lingers, Colder Weekend
TONIGHT: Cloudy, wet, and cool conditions can be expected through the night. There will be periods of rain with pockets of heavy rain at times. The area is saturated so any additional heavy rain can lead to flash flood, especially over areas of southeast Alabama. Temperatures hover in the lower to mid 50s overnight.
NEW YEAR’S EVE: Another day of cloudy and wet conditions. Not as much rain tomorrow, but once again periods of rain are expected. It will be a cool day with most locations in the upper 50s and lower 60s. Unfortunately, it appears the threat of rain will continue in the forecast for your New Year’s Eve plans. Of course things can change, but if you are heading out to ring in the New Year, you may need the rain gear.
NEW YEAR’S DAY: We still can’t rule out scattered showers, and it will be cooler. Highs Friday will only be in the 50s, and we should finally see the bulk the steady rain moving out of our area.
SUNNY BUT COLDER WEEKEND: The rain will have moved out and sunshine takes its place. Highs this weekend will be in the 50s, while overnight lows will be well down into the 30s.
NEXT WEEK: Finally, we get a chance to really dry out for several days. A sunny but cool weather pattern will settle into the region. Daytime highs in the 50s with overnight lows in the 30s.
