Hundreds gathered Tuesday to say their final goodbyes to a friend and colleague who they say had the biggest heart.

“Buddy was a good guy. If you needed him for something he would go above and beyond to help,” Franklin Berry.
Ralph Fowee was killed when the Toyota Tacoma he was driving overturned on Highway 87, ten miles south of Troy.
“He was a fun guy to be around we just like to say, we send our condolences to the family, our prayers to help them get through this,” says Troy Fire Chief Thomas Outlaw.
Ralph Fowee spent  over 30 years as a fireman for the Troy Fire Department, retiring two and a half years ago. Former colleagues remember him not only as a hard worker but also as a close friend.
“Its been hard the last few days. I had a bad day on Sunday but its got a little bit better but its been bad we’re going to make it,” says Berry.
They say, saying goodbye to one of their own is the hardest. “Everyone will miss him,” says Outlaw.
Ralph Fowee was 58-years-old.
