U.S Senate Candidate Jonathan McConnell is gearing up for Alabama Primary Voting in March with a stop in Troy.
He announced his candidacy against current U.S Senate, Richard Shelby in November of Last Year. McConnell spent most of Thursday meeting citizens and business owners. He says one of his main goals is to lift the burden off of small business. McConnell says he wants to be a candidate that citizens can relate to and as a small business owner himself and a Marine Combat Veteran, he says he can meet the citizen’s needs.
“How is someone like that going to relate to small business owner. I run a small business. I’m a marine combat veteran. Here’s the difference that I know what its like and what threats we have out there in this world and what it means to be a common Alabama Citizen,” says McConnell.
U.S Senate Richard Shelby has been in office since 1987.
