Turning Much Colder
SCATTERED SHOWERS: It remains cloudy, and there have been scattered showers moving through the state today, but certainly nothing to heavy. A few thunderstorms are developing and could impact the region the next several hours out ahead of the cold front. Very limited instability means the threat for severe weather is minimal, but there certainly could be a few storms with gusty winds and hail. Temperatures will hold the 50s for the remainder of your Saturday.

WINTER RETURNS: Get ready for cold air to return tonight. A cold front will move through Alabama tonight and deliver a reinforcing shot of cold air. Sunday will be a cold, blustery and raw day. Expect mainly cloudy conditions and light rain and drizzle at times, with a gusty north wind of 15-25 mph. It still looks like a few snow flurries are possible over far North Alabama in the colder air, but no impact from them, and certainly not expecting anything like that down this way, except falling temperatures. Highs tomorrow will be in the 40s all day, and will be falling rapidly through Sunday evening. By Monday morning, widespread 20s are expected across South-Central Alabama.
COLD WEEK AHEAD: We will see plenty of sun and dry weather, but it will be cold. Through at least Thursday morning, we are going to our lows in the 20s. Monday will yield a high only near 50 degrees, with temps in the mid-50s on Tuesday. However, Tuesday night, another shot of cold air arrives and highs Wednesday will once again be back in the 40s. By the end of the week, we will begin to see our next storm system approaching and that will allow temperatures and moisture levels to increase Thursday and into Friday.
