Greenville Police say they have arrested the owner of Cahaba Interiors and charged him with raping someone he worked with.

Jeffery Chad McGriff, 43, was arrested late Friday night. Chief Investigator Justin Lovvorn says the investigation began late Friday when he was contacted by the Crenshaw County Sheriff’s office. Greenville Police say the Sheriff’s office advised they had a possible rape victim at a hospital in Luverne.

After conducting an investigation at the alleged scene and with the victim, Lovvorn established probable cause that a crime had been committed. Greenville Police then located McGriff and brought him in for questioning. Greenville Police say they then arrested and charged McGriff with first degree rape.

McGriff was transported to the Butler County Jail with a $30,000 bond. Lovvorn says he has since bonded out of jail.
