The fate of a Selma woman on trial for murder in Perry County is in the hands of a jury.

District Attorney Michael Jackson says 25 year old Tammy Hill attacked her then-boyfriend with a knife during a domestic violence situation back in 2013.

Jackson says the boyfriend’s uncle stepped in to stop the fighting couple — but instead ended up being stabbed by Hill twice during the struggle — and dying from his wounds.

“Uncle was trying to break it up and got stabbed,” said Jackson. “Like so many instances that this happens to folks. When people try to intervene during these domestic violence situation often times that person ends up getting hurt.”
