Suspected ATV Thief Shot and Jailed in Wilcox Co.

A shooting investigation in Dallas County — lands a Clarke County man — behind bars in Wilcox County for stealing.
District Attorney Michael Jackson says 26 year old Terry Hunt of Thomasville is charged with Theft of Property and Criminal Trespass.
He says Hunt stole an ATV from a residence in Camden early Thursday morning — and was injured by the homeowner who came out and opened fire.
Jackson says Hunt drove to a Dallas County trailer park — where a relative took him to the hospital — and he was treated and released.
“There’s mandatory reporting at the hospital when somebody gets shot,” said Jackson. “He tried to come up with some explanation of why he was all shot up.”
Jackson says Hunt later turned himself in to police and the stolen property was recovered on Highway 41 in Dallas County.
