Tallapoosa County Deputies Investigating Murder
The Tallapoosa County Sheriff says a Dadeville man has been arrested and charged with another man’s murder.
Sheriff Jimmy Abbett says 33-year-old Matthew Clate McDaniel is being held in the county jail on a murder charge. His bond has been set at a quarter-million dollars.
Abbett says at approximately 4:43 a.m. yesterday, the department got a call that hunters found a body in the woods off Barrons Bridge Road south of Dadeville.
The body was identified as that of Norman Deon Crayton, 40, of Jacksons Gap. The sheriff says the initial investigation shows he’d been shot. The body has been taken to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences.
The investigation into the cause of the shooting is continuing.
