T-storms Overnight; Wintry Mix Friday Night
A lot going on with strong to severe storms to our west this afternoon. There is a tornado watch over parts of MS and LA until 10pm. The system arrives in west AL later this evening and moves across the state overnight. Strong to severe storms with damaging winds, hail, lightning and possibly a few tornadoes. Additional rainfall of 1 to 2 inches will be possible. We will be tracking the system throughout the night.
The rain and severe storm threat departs Friday morning. Windy and much colder air heads into the region throughout the day. Any moisture lingering will fall as flurries or light snow Friday night into early Saturday morning. Little if any accumulation is expected with this system.
