Suspect Charged with Attempted Murder in December Shooting

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (Alabama News Network) – Montgomery Police have arrested a suspect on two counts of attempted murder.

Artis Matthews, 39, is said to be responsible for an incident on Friday, December 18th. Investigators say two adult males were shot in the 100 block of East South Boulevard. They were taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

After further investigation, Matthews was developed as a suspect. He was arrested by the U.S. Marshals on Monday, January 25th in the 3000 block of Tremont Drive.

Matthews is being held in the Montgomery County Detention Facility under a $120,000 dollar bond.
