Uber Montgomery City Council Vote is Tonight
Mayor says he supports it.
The long debated proposal to allow Uber to operate its ride sharing program in the city of Montgomery is on the agenda for tonight’s City Council meeting.
Mayor Todd Strange told CBS 8 This Morning that he supports the ordinance and that it is fair to both Uber drivers and much longer established taxi-cab drivers. All drive
rs will be required to have their vehicles inspected and will have to undergo background checks.
Strange says the city has signed up a dozen or so auto repair locations to do the inspections.
