NY Post Finds Harper Lee’s NYC Apartment

We knew Harper Lee split her time between her hometown of Monroeville and New York City, but we didn’t know just where and how in NY she lived.

Now The New York Post reports it was an Upper East Side rent stabilized apartment for less than $1,000 a month, a real bargain in Manhattan.

Lee was also friendly with other tenants in the building.

“She was a very Southern and hospitable type of person,” one neighbor said.

Lee would finish the New York Times Magazine crossword puzzle by 9 a.m. every Sunday and leave it on a table in the building lobby.
