Carver Returns to Final Four, Win 6A South Regional Over Park Crossing
The Carver Wolverines will have a chance to go back-to-back after beating the Thunderbirds
DOTHAN, AL — The G.W. Carver Wolverines boy’s basketball team will return to the Final Four to defend their title after beating Park Crossing 52-49 in the 6A South Regional Championship.
Carver’s Antonio Nelson made two free throws with 5.8 seconds left on the clock to give the Wolverines the three point lead. The Thunderbirds missed the buzzer-beater three point shot to tie the game.
The Wolverines only need two more wins in Birmingham to pull off a back-to-back championship run in 6A.
Nelson had 16 points for Carver, while Addison Coleman had 9 points. Darian Adams and Xavious Turner each had eight points.
Park Crossing put up a great fight, led by Donnie Williams with 15 points. Teammate Brian Gourdine had 10 points and 9 rebounds.
