The March 1st Primary Election is less than a week away and candidates in Pike County are making their voices heard before the polls open.

Several candidates spoke to the Pike County Republican Women Tuesday morning.  Each had three to four minutes to give their reasons that citizens should vote for them on March 1st. Congresswoman Martha Roby also spoke to the group. People attending say any opportunity to listen to these candidates is important before casting their vote.
“I am concerned that people are running to the poles and they have not done their research yet and you know its my individual vote and so I should take that right very seriously. Do my research. Think about whats important to me. What my values are,” says Stephanie Baker.
The Pike County Republican Women’s Organization has been serving Troy since 2009, with efforts to highlight republican candidates whether locally or throughout the state. The Pike County Democrats will hold their next meeting after the primary election. There is no exact date set yet for that meeting.
