Hillary Clinton Plans Campaign Stop in Birmingham

Hillary Clinton Presidential BidDemocratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton is planning a weekend campaign stop in Alabama ahead of the state’s Super Tuesday primary next week.

The Clinton campaign said in a statement that she’ll hold a get-out-the vote event Saturday in Birmingham. Her campaign officials say more details about the visit will be released later.

Campaign officials say Clinton plans on discussing income inequality and other barriers faced by American families. The announcement comes as the state’s GOP-dominated Legislature eyes a bill that would block a push by Birmingham city leaders to establish a local hourly minimum wage of $10.10

The March 1 Super Tuesday is when Republicans and Democrats will award hundreds of delegates in 11 states. One U.S. territory also is to participate on the Democratic side Tuesday.
