Golden Tigers split SIAC crossover in Memphis Friday

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (goldentigersports.com) — The Tuskegee University men’s tennis team split their two early matches on Friday at the SIAC Crossover.

In the day’s opening match, Tuskegee ran away from LeMoyne-Owen, 7-0, using two wins at doubles to get the match started. The day started with wins by Oshane Trail and Michael Graham at number one doubles, 8-4; before the number two team of Reggie Richardson and Brandon Sewell claimed an 8-2 victory.

The momentum stayed with the Golden Tigers into singles play as they won four of the five matches played – one did not finish. The match was clinched when Richardson defeated Anthony Smith 6-0, 6-1 at number four; followed by Jalen Law defeating Arie Bady 6-1, 6-0 at number five.

The day continued with the Golden Tigers dropping a 7-0 decision to Spring Hill in the middle match of the day. Spring Hill won all three doubles points, two on the court as they won both matches by identical 8-5 scores.

Needing just two points in singles play, the Badgers went up 4-0 with a default victory at number six, before Lars Bajohr defeated Graham 6-2, 6-3 to clinch the match for Spring Hill.
