Tuskegee’s Sharde Thomas tabbed SIAC softball’s Player of the Week
ATLANTA, GA (goldentigersports.com) — Tuskegee University freshman catcher/shortstop Sharde Thomas was named the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) softball Player of the Week, announced by the conference office Wednesday afternoon.
Thomas finished the week hitting .455 in 11 plate appearances. The freshman finished with a pair of runs scored and three runs batted in. Three of her five hits this week were of the extra-base variety, picking up 2 doubles and a triple. Int the first game of the series against Stillman, Thomas finished 1-for-2 with a double, while in the second game she finished 3-for-5 with two runs scored, three runs batted in and a double. She finished the series going 1-for-4.
Tuskegee returns to action in conference play this weekend, traveling to face Miles on Friday at 4 pm.
