Shooting in Greenville Leaves Man Dead, Woman Arrested

On Wednesday, March 9th around 8:45pm, Greenville police officers say they received a call of a shooting on Linda Avenue.

Officers responded to the scene and  found a 31-year old man with a gunshot wound to the head. The victim was treated by paramedics and transported to Stablers hospital. Investigators responded to the scene and very quickly developed a person of interest, after speaking to neighbors and processing the scene.

Shantel Jalisa Boone, a 27-year old black female, was located and brought to the police department for questioning. After interviewing Boone and collecting several items of evidence from the scene of the shooting, investigators placed Boone under arrest.

The victim was airlifted to UAB Hospital where he died Thursday, March 10th at 8:30 a.m from gunshot wounds.

Boone is being held at Butler County jail with no bond. Her charge has been upgraded from Attempted Murder to Murder.
