Update: Montgomery Police Make Arrest in Fatal Shooting

Montgomery police say they’ve made an arrest in this morning’s shooting death of 59-year-old Tony Myhand of Montgomery.

Detectives say they’ve charged 40-year-old Christopher Myhand of Montgomery with murder. Police say Myhand was taken into custody at the scene. He is being held under a $150,000 bond.

At about 9:00 a.m. police and fire medics responded to the 100 block of South Burbank Drive. That’s where they say they discovered a gunshot victim, Tony Myhand, who was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. Myhand later was pronounced dead.

Police say their investigation indicates the shooting stemmed from an argument involving family members.
