March 15th is National Ag Day and farmers are just getting into the planting season. They say temperatures are high  but they are not a threat to crops right now.

Bill Sanders of Sanders Farms says warmer temperatures in March are a bit unusual but he’s keeping his fingers crossed it won’t affect his crops.
“We’ll naturally have our Easter cool snap but it won’t be hopefully nothing severe that will set us back,” says Sanders.
He says we’ve had an exceptionally wet winter with December being the wettest he has seen.
“The ground is still saturated but once we get into the summer patterns that will easily be gone and we’ll be wanting some more rain.”
Despite the weather, Sanders is focused on producing the best crops of wheat and corn.
“Its extremely necessary livelihood. Its also necessary for the national defense. A country that can’t feed itself, can’t defend itself.”
Production from Sander’s farm reaches different areas of the world.
