Hornets reveal 2016 spring football regimen

MONTGOMERY, Ala  (AlabamaNews.Net) — The Alabama State University football team has begun their 2016 spring workouts.

Hornets’ Head Coach Brian Jenkins kicking off the practice sessions with two early morning workouts before the team takes a two week hiatus for Spring Break.

On Friday, April 1st, the Hornets will return to the field for late afternoon practice, followed by another session the following Saturday at 4:30 p.m.

ASU will be off until the following Friday, April 8, when they will hit the field at 4:30 p.m.  The Hornets will host a Sunday practice April 10 from 3-5 p.m.

Friday, April 15th will see the Hornets on the practice field at 4:30 leading into the final week of practice.

ASU will be on the field three times during that final week beginning with a 3 p.m. practice on Sunday, April 17.

Friday, April 22 the Hornets will hit the field for their final practice session at 4:30 p.m.

That day is also draft day as the players will be divided into teams for the Black and Gold Spring Game, which is scheduled for Saturday, April 23, with a tentative start time of 11am.
