We are now just a few hours from the official start of spring. With the warmer weather comes the threat of storms. That’s why the Alabama National Guard is beginning training to prepare to keep you safe from potential storms.
The Rehearsal of Concept, or R.O.C. drill consists of a 70/120 foot map of the state to know exactly where and what needs to be in place in cities like Birmingham, Montgomery, and Mobile during the threat of severe weather. The training has several details for guardsmen to follow, but they cant do it alone. During the event of severe weather all hands are on deck, with the help of state agencies like the Emergency Management Agency, and Air National Guard.
The Alabama National Guard will also have on the road, reality based training for sever weather in April.
