AU gymnast Kait Kluz named to SEC Community Service Team

AUBURN, Ala. (auburntigers.com) – Senior Kait Kluz of the No. 6 Auburn gymnastics team was named to the 2016 SEC Community Service team, the league office announced Friday.

Kluz, of Wixom, Mich., has been a constant for the Tigers when it comes to community service. Ever since her freshman season, she has participated in the City of Auburn Downtown Trick or Treat festival where she helped pass out candy and signed autographs.

In addition, Kluz regularly visits local elementary schools to meet and greet students as they arrive to school. She has also participated in the End Child Hunger initiative in Lee County, participating in backpack stuffing parties for Blessings in a Backpack. This organization is dedicated to provide food for elementary school children.

This past fall, she visited local elementary schools and took part of team demos for physical education classes. In total, Kluz and the team went to four area schools and spent time interacting with students. Along with the demos, she and members of her team were able to play games able to play games and answer questions.

Other community activities Kluz has been involved in included volunteering at the Lee County Humane Society and with the Special Olympics Flag Football team.
