Cahoon’s 74 leads Huntingdon women in Rd. 1 at Jekyll Island
JEKYLL ISLAND, Ga. (huntingdonhawks.com) – The Huntingdon women’s golf team shot 320 on Friday in the opening round of the Jekyll Island Women’s Collegiate Invitational.
The Lady Hawks are ninth entering Saturday’s second round. Whitman College leads the field at 299, Sewanee is second at 301 and Bridgewater College is third at 308.
Junior LeeAnn Cahoon shot a 2-over-par 74 to lead Huntingdon. Cahoon is three strokes off the lead and tied for seventh. Sewanee’s Emily Javadi turned in Friday’s best round with a 1-under 71.
Behind Cahoon, freshman Hallie Rice shot a 79 and is tied for 29th. Sophomore Lindsey Huff shot an 81, junior Courtney Harville shot 86 and sophomore Kelsey Spivey shot 87.
