Advertiser Calls for Bentley to Resign

Calls his actions "degrading" to him and Alabama.

IMG_5979The Montgomery Advertiser, the largest daily newspaper remaining in Alabama, is calling for Governor Bentley to resign.

They write that Bentley has “lost control of his judgment and trounced the public’s trust in his leadership”…that his actions are “degrading not only to him, but corrosive to the state of Alabama. They go far beyond a mere romantic dalliance, consummated or not.”

The paper also writes “Emasculated by the public exposure of his misdeeds, Bentley can no longer effectively serve the state.”

On Wednesday, Bentley’s hometown newspaper, The Tuscaloosa News, also called on Bentley to step down, writing “It is evident that Alabama politics is still sick and Bentley isn’t the doctor we need to heal the situation.”
