AUM softball stays atop NAIA poll

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (aumathletics.com) — The Auburn-Montgomery softball holds the No. 1 ranking in the second regular-season NAIA Softball Coaches’ Top 25 Poll, the national office released Tuesday afternoon.

The Warhawks collected 13-of-19 first-place votes and a total of 524 points in the poll. Oklahoma City (32-1) collected the remaining six, and stayed in second with a total of 517 points.

On the season, the Warhawks have posted a 29-2 (5-1 SSAC) record. AUM has won four consecutive games since falling to No. 8 William Carey. Mobile fell one spot from the previous week to number seven, as William Carey moved up one spot to number eight.

Martin Methodist (74) and Faulkner (3) are the other Southern States Athletic Conference teams to be receiving votes in the latest poll.
