Unrestrained Child Dies in Crash

AP_387889666278Authorities are investigating a highway crash that claimed the life of a 4-year-old boy.

The Montgomery Advertiser reports that the wreck happened Tuesday afternoon in Chilton County, about 9 miles south of Clanton.

The Alabama Highway Patrol said the boy died after the car in which he was riding left the road and overturned. Authorities said the boy was sitting unrestrained in a back seat, and was thrown from the car.

State troopers said the boy’s mother and a second child in the front seats were wearing seat belts, and neither of them was hurt.
