Bigger Penalty for Crimes Against Law Enforcement and First Responders

The committee passage of two important law enforcement related bills was announced.
HB386 increases the classification of assault on a law enforcement officer, firefighter, emergency medical personnel and other public servants, from a class C felony to a class B felony.
HB407 makes it a class C felony to threaten a law enforcement officer with firearm or other deadly weapon.
