Some Prattville residents are breathing a sigh of relief as help may finally be on the way after major flooding over Christmas.

The rainwater has caused major erosion in backyards on Mara Court in Prattville. What used to be a small drainage ditch, now is a 100 foot deep hole that is putting their homes in danger.
The good news is the City of Prattville is taking action to try to get some help.
The city council passed a resolution to apply for funds from the National Resources Conservation Service. It will pay 75 percent of the project and the city will pay 25 percent.
Homeowner James Franklin told us back in February, he will be happy to see some progress. “All I want to know is what is happening, because if they keep me in the loop, that’s fine,” said Franklin.
The estimated total cost to repair the ditch is $446,000.
