Hornets’ late season tweak to tennis schedule
MONTGOMERY, Ala. (bamastatesports.com) – There have been a couple of changes to the remaining men’s tennis schedule for the Alabama State Hornets. As ASU prepares for next week’s Southwestern Athletic Conference Tournament, the Hornets will travel to Hattiesburg, Mississippi to play a rescheduled match against Southern Mississippi. That match will take place Friday, April 8 at 11 a.m.
The Hornets previous final match of the year, another road match which was scheduled to be at Troy, has been cancelled. ASU and Troy were scheduled to play Sunday, April 10 at 5 p.m.
The Hornets (6-8) will face a red-hot Southern Miss (14-7) team that enters the match winners of five consecutive and seven of its last eight.
The match will be ASU’s final match of the season before heading off to New Orleans to begin their defense of their SWAC Tournament Championship from 2015.
The SWAC Tournament will run Friday–Sunday, April 15-17.
