Gov. Bentley Awards Tallassee Police Funds for New Equipment
Gov. Robert Bentley has awarded nearly $5,000 to purchase new equipment and improve public safety in Tallassee.
The Tallassee Police Department will use the $4,942 grant to purchase equipment for use by patrol officers.
The Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs is administering the grant from funds made available by the U.S. Justice Department. ADECA has awarded numerous grants to law enforcement agencies across Alabama to purchase equipment that those local agencies deem essential to their needs.
Bentley notified Mayor Bobby Payne that the grant had been approved.
ADECA administers an array of programs supporting law enforcement and traffic safety, economic development, energy conservation, water resource management and recreation development.
