KANSAS CITY, Mo. (aumathletics.com) — The Auburn-Montgomery softball team dropped one spot to No. 3 in the fourth regular-season NAIA Softball Coaches’ Top 25 Poll, the national office released Tuesday afternoon.

Oklahoma City (44-1) collected 17-of-19 first-place votes and a total of 528 points in the poll. St. Gregory’s (33-3) is the only team that has beaten Oklahoma City this season, and moved up one spot to number two with 506 points.

The Warhawks took the remaining two first-place votes for a total of 494 points to secure the third-place spot. The team has posted a 36-5 (12-4 SSAC) record as they are tied with No. 6 William Carey (28-11, 12-2 SSAC) for first in the Southern States Athletic Conference. William Carey moved up one spot from the previous week in the poll.

Joining the Warhawks and the Crusaders in the top 25 were fellow SSAC members No. 13 Martin Methodist, who remained in the same spot as last week, and No. 23 Brenau, who was not receiving votes in the last poll. Mobile fell just outside of the top 25 with 66 total points in the receiving votes category.

The Warhawks will continue SSAC play this Friday, April 15, as they travel to face Brewton-Parker College for a double header beginning at 1 p.m.
