Deadly Reminder: Work Zone Safety Week
One Worker Killed in North Alabama
This is Work-Zone Safety Week, a designation used to increase awareness of the dangers of driving in highway construction zones.
A fatal accident in North Alabama is a real-life reminder of that danger.
State troopers say an Alabama Department of Transportation employee was killed and another was injured in a crash on I-65 in Morgan County near Priceville.
They say two cars crashed on I-65 north and then collided with a parked ALDOT vehicle. Two employees standing outside the vehicle were struck. One of them died, the other is recovering form injuries. The drivers of both vehicles were also injured.
